Welcome to AC Sandhills

The AC Sandhills Recreation Program is a volunteer-based program serving over 800 players annually. Our Recreation Program serves Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen, Seven Lakes, Carthage, Rockingham, Raeford, Candor, Biscoe, Vass and other surrounding communities. Games are played in the Fall and Spring Seasons.

The Recreation Program main goals are focused on learning and enjoying the wonderful sport of soccer.  For many, the recreation program is the very first introduction to the game.   Children as early as 3-years old, Mini-Kicker Program, are able to join the league and begin learning the basic skills of the game, while also developing socially as they are introduced to being a part of a team. As the player's grow from small children, the recreation program continues to be a great option players all the way up to 16 years of age, who love the game, enjoy the competition and still are focused on pure fun.

Want to Volunteer as a Head Coach?

AC Sandhills Recreation Soccer would not exist without its Volunteer Coaches. Thanks to the hours dedicated to spreading the knowledge of and love for soccer, our coaches are able to provide a positive experience for our recreation players.

In order to work with minors, each coach must complete a North Carolina Youth Soccer Association Risk Management Application and pass the NCYSA Background Check. Coaches are also briefed on rules of the game, AC Sandhills Player/Parent Codes of Conduct, and encouraged to attend coaches education seminars.

If you are interested in coaching a team, please contact us at

A.  Coaches must attend the seasonal Coaches Meeting before the start of Recreation Soccer Season.  This is when the coaches get their rosters and training schedules.  We have the meeting 2 weeks prior to the first session week.  All our coaches are Volunteers and have regular day jobs so AC Sandhills asks to give them some flexibility and time to reach out to their players after our Coaches Meeting.

However, they must pay before the start of the season and will then be given the refunded money at the end of the season.
Q.  Can I train/play in game(s) wearing any of the following: jewelry, glasses or cast for broken limbs?
A.  Players may wear glasses, at their own risk, but ACS recommend wearing athletic glasses.  Jewelry (earrings, tongue/lip rings, belly button rings, wrist bands, etc.) are not permitted.  Earrings are not allowed to be taped over; must be taken out.  Medical bracelets are allowed but must be taped using athletic tape; face of band can be visible.  All hard casts on arm(s) must be covered using padding such as bubble wrap.
